June held two vacations.  Prepare for picture overload.

First up, Lake Arrowhead--also known as trip from Hades.  Actually, the daytime activities were fine.  It was the nighttime sleep that didn't happen and the drive home that was rough.  Let's just say there was all sorts of bodily fluids being spewed around the van.  Ew.

The great grandkids all got tshirts and visors.  There were a lot of little kids running around, but you could easily spot one of our group's because of their neon tshirts.  Good thinking whoever was in charge of shirts.

Colby wasn't a fan of sleeping in the hotel room/cabin.  Here's the only good sleep he got that weekend.  I love snuggling babies.

And to finish up Arrowhead, let me just say what a fabulous family I married into.  We were there to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa Johansson's 60th wedding anniversary.  They are just some of the best people, and it was great being with them and the family that has been built because of them.

And then a couple weeks later in June, we set off for Sunriver, Oregon.  That place is heaven on earth.  We had about a 15 hour drive to get there.  On the way there, we split the trip up into two days.

Outside our hotel in Reno.  The kids thought the hotel was awesome.  We ended up having to each sleep with a kid to get them to stay settled in bed long enough to go to sleep.

And I've already mentioned Crater Lake on the blog, but here's the picture again.

We went to Sunriver to be with my parents and brothers for a week.  The house that they rented was fabulous.  Under the stairs had been converted to a little play area with it's access through that little door behind P.  They loved it.

The backyard.  Down there was also a fire pit and a little dock to get on the river.

It rained the first two or three days we were there.  We left a few dads home with sleeping babies (Brandon included) and took our bigger kids to see Monsters University.  It was my kiddos first time in a theater.  They did alright.  P got bored pretty quick, so keeping her occupied was a bit of a task, but Reggie did great.  They both got a little scared at the end and then had to go potty, so we missed the very very end.  Oh well.  But based on that experience, I have no desire to take Penny to a movie again until she's at least 4.

The backyard also had a hot tub, although the water wasn't ever very warm.  My kids and their obsession with pool safety insisted on wearing floaties in the hot tub even though they could touch the bottom at it's deepest point.  These are probably the last pictures we have with Reggie in floaties.  He started swimming independently right before this trip and had it mastered by the end of summer.

Sunriver is a resort town, and one day we went into the village by the resort to shop.

Who knows why my leg is sticking out like that.  Ha!

The house was also equipped with a ton of bikes.  My parents tried out the tandem.  I was too scared to try it.  :)

Brandon and Reggie tried out the afterburner.  Reggie was pretty nervous about it, but in the end, really liked it.

P tried out a little Cars bike.  I think that was her first time on a real bike.  We have a big wheel for her at our house.

And we gave the paddleboat a whirl.

We also took a walk around the golf course.  Gorgeous.

I have pictures of me and friends at this same waterfall feature from various trips to Sunriver while growing up.

And Colbs was there too.  A lot of the outside stuff we did while he was napping since he wasn't walking at his point.

And our tradition with big vacations is to buy matching tshirts.  We started it on our honeymoon, and let me say, buying five t shirts is a little spendy!

And I'll finish this monster post with this picture.  The house had a couple of massage chairs in the family room.  I think it was more uncomfortable than anything for the kids since their bodies were to small to fit where they were supposed to, but they thought it was hilarious to get slammed around by the rollers.  We thought it was hilarious too.
