We all have needs. We all know others have needs. At this time of year, I think everyone is a little more aware of opportunities to serve and give whether it's in the form of a couple dollars in the Salvation Army's tin or singing carols at a nursing home. It's beautiful.
This year, my sister-in-law Becky (sorry folks, her blog is private), posted about a service project her brother is heading up. He is a doctor and currently stationed in Afghanistan. His project, Operation Desert Blossom, is to collect winter clothes and hygiene items for the people in Ghazni.
If you're feeling that holiday itch, and want to make a difference on a more global scale, check out the blog. If your church group, school class, Mother's group, whatever!, is looking for an activity, check out the blog. The sidebar has a list of current needs as well as frequently asked questions and where donations can be sent.
And Matt says it best in the blog description--"By small and simple things, with effort and time, "the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose." (Isaiah 35:1)".
